Project description: Each year the Laytonville Seventh/Eighth graders perform a production of a Shakespearean play under the direction of teacher Mark O'Neil. Students gain an in-depth understanding of the etymology and metamorphosing nature of the English language by learning to read and understand Shakespeare. All aspects of the production - set design, lighting, advertising, filming, and the production itself involve student planning and choice. Our entire community benefits by having these productions presented in Laytonville. NCRCN has provided support and funds for set production.
