Laytonville Project: 'Hello' Mural

Project description:

Sudent Natalie Rose working on the 'Hello Mural'
Students from the High School, under the direction of Art Instructor Carolyn Carpenter, designed and created a 6-panel mural on the north-facing wall of Foster's Market, a local business at the corner of Highway 101 and Branscomb Road. The mural is visible to southbound Highway 101 traffic as they come into town.

Each panel design was selected by the students by vote from among many entries produced by the students. Depicting a rainbow of colors, the mural was painted in one day. The individual artists painted their own design or chose their helpers, while others worked on the "hello" portion of the wall, a place to paint a "hello" message to someone.

The occasion was festive as a local band played and pizza was supplied by a local bakery.
The completed 'Hello' mural.
