Connections
How does the project connect with our theme of people, history,
and place? The theme which focuses on the life cycle of salmon relates to
a historic past time
and industry of the bioregion.
How does the project interact with the community? Community artist, carpenters, and gardeners will all help with
the process.
How does the project connect with other NCRCN members/ sites?
At this time,
that is unknown, though we would like to share the process weve
used, and the
information the mural and garden tiles will communicate as a forum
for
teaching about our bioregion.

Learner Outcomes?:
-
Self Directed Learner: Students will be responsible for designing tiles on their own
and following through on building, painting and gardening requirements.
-
Community Contributor: Students will work in groups on developing plans for the project.
They will also share their expertise on local plants, animals
and the salmon life cycle with others.
-
Constructive Thinker: Students will be required to research animals and plants of the
area and then synthesize that information into something that
could be portrayed in a painting.
-
Quality Producer: Students will be using their skills of producing quality work
in painting, carpentry, tile work and gardening.
-
Effective Communicator: Students will be communicating through art work.
