Laytonville Project: 'Through the Eyes of the Elders' Book
Project description: Through their connection made with the school, some elders will return to the high school and participate in a formal interview with students from the Humanities Class. Students learn to interview, transcribe, edit, and do page layout to produce a 130 page book entitled 'Through the Eyes of the Elders'. Now working on our third volume, this book has brought our community a sense of pride; the stories weave an incredible, fascinating tapestry that is Laytonville. Our students are also learning history as no textbook could ever teach, and having fun in the process.
