Bat Star
Asterina miniata

Brilliant with color variations ranging from yellow and orange,
to black, the webbed arms of the Bat Star make it easy to distinguish.
This  medium- sized species with rough texture, is one of  the
most abundant sea stars in the tidepools.  Bat Stars love to dine
on Turban snails, which are their favorite food.
Habitat/Range: The Bat Star lives on rocks, in surfgrass, kelp,
and on sandy bottoms.  It can be found from Alaska south to Baja.
