Through the North Coast Rural Challenge Network, four rural school districts use project-based technology to reform education, revitalize economies and preserve our environment.
In this site we describe how our four communities (Anderson Valley, Laytonville, Mendocino and Point Arena in Mendocino County, California collaborate to improve education for all students and create stronger communities. Through place-based learning and by using technology to connect districts isolated from each other by mountain ranges, schools become partners with the communities as they solve common problems. Improved academic achievement and civic responsibility are the goals for over 2,600 students as they learn about the delicate balance between economic revitalization and environmental sustainability in our region. |
